2011 SGGA

HELP!!! Hams needed.
Seeking fun loving people to educate others on glider care, enrichment, how tos, demos, and ???. Looking to add LOTS of laughter to our learning experience this year. Serious topics allowed if you promise to at least trip on your way to the front. Anyone feel like cutting it up with me up front?

Thinking about a talk on railroading gliders. Anyone game to take on that one?

Oh man got another idea. How about one on SAFE introduction methods??? Yes this idea is in direct response to an other method that was learned about earlier in the year. Any takers?

Nancy, I saw that you were able to snag a deluxe king. I was watching to see if one would come open and you must have snapped it up right after the person who had it reserved cancelled. (no they were not with our group, it was a corporate traveller) I made sure to reattach you to the SGGA group so you would be included in the benefits. I'm looking forward to seeing you there.

Awww, thanks Chris! I was on the AAA website checking availability and jumped on it! Looks like we will be having quite a party Thursday night! Is there a place outside to hang out for us smokers?

Do you mean Sunday the 31? Because the Saturday is the 30.

There are several areas outside to smoke, We have seating areas out front and out back

The SGGA conference date is July Saturday the 29th. Most attendees will come on Friday night (28th) and stay until Sunday (30th).

For those of you who are bringing animals BESIDES sugar gliders know that you'll need to pay $10 per day per animal PLUS the one time $10 fee for you gliders. The one time fee was ONLY for gliders so it does NOT include other animals.

The conference is Saturday July 30th. Elena, you must have too much going on, girl!

you will be able to pay for the vendors table at the same time as registration, but PLEASE REMEMBER to fill out the vendor registration form

we are limited this year with the vending tables, so it will be on a first come basis

I have my registration in AND my room booked! I can't believe that I am ready and on the ball early this year! Whoo Hoo! I must be super excited!!! Can you tell?

Speaking of goodie gags and donations. Thought I'd just jump in here and update. There is a theme this year. It is Huckleberry Finn, and stuff. LOL. If you remember the book, a lot of it is set around this area. Kids and I listened to a book on CD on the way up there to see Bentley. Forgot so much of the book, it was great to pass the time and so interesting how much of it was set around the Quincey area. AND... fits perfect with the setting of the hotel.

I've got some great ideas for donations and I will probably be doing the centerpieces (with help from Karin).

Just something to give you all to think about.

There will be no raffle. All donations will be given away as door prizes again this year. Last year we were less than 10 short of everyone getting a door prize. I hope this year we will have enough for every person to get something.

If you are planning on attending, if you send a door prize gift then we will have enough to go arounds. I plan on bringing several just to make sure no one gets left out.

I plan on bringing several as well for door prizes and stuff for goodie bags. Now I need to go look up Huckleberry Finn, I don't remember anything about it now since it has been SOOOO many years ago when I last read it.

Unfortunantly due to moving, Elena will not be the hostess for this years 20011 SGGA. We wish Elena and Chuck the best of luck in their new lives in Hawaii and we understand her need to leave.

As for the SGGA, it will go on as planned. Thankfully most of the hard work has already been done. Thank you Elena for all your hard work it is much apprechiated.

All donations and goodie bag items will come to me. I am going to need a lot of help as I really did not want to add this to my work load right now, but... I love the donations, I love seeing all the creative items people bring/donate and I think it is important that this factor of the SGGA continues. I have a lot of faith this community will support me in this and it will be the BEST year for donations and everyone will leave the SGGA happy.

Bourbon will handle the speakers, demos, glider food and EVERYTHING else. LOL. I am sure she would also love any help offered.

We are so lucky to have Chris at the hotel as a contact. She has already done so much to help this years SGGA. Thank you so much Chris. I love your hotel and I can't wait to stay there.

CORA??? How much time we have left for the SGGA? and as our OFFICIAL time keeper... If we were to make a special announcement regarding the SGGA how much time do we have before we HAVE to do it?

You have 9 weeks and 7 days til the SGGA my friend! So I would think all announcements should be made by then!

Well, I have roomies so I am committed!!!! If hubby dont commit me by then, jk lol he aint happy about it but he will get used to it and embrace it! (I hope) But I am still going either way! Wow its next month huh?

I don't know if I can swing it this year, but will send a door prize and something for the goodies bags. How many & where should I send them?

Hubby will get over it...so will my parents (hoping to borrow a car and money from them - my property tax refund isn't due to arrive till mid-August) & my mama's gonna be watching my babies for me...wish I could bring them all again...Lol! Maybe I can find a way to bring a few...lol. Hmmmm....
